Today we are pleased to announce our latest series of Edmodo apps at ISTE. These grade specific apps feature NextLesson’s latest content, Real World Performance Tasks. Each new app also offers access to the grade-level resources from our existing extensive library of 1,000+ projects and lessons.
Rigorous and Real World
Our Performance Tasks enable students to do math using real data in real life scenarios solving authentic problems. Students explore math concepts around topics of high personal interest with their favorite books, movies, sports, music, food and technology. The Performance Tasks are designed as multi-level experiences that require an increasing depth of knowledge of math and English language — each task offers cross-curricular extensions.
Field Tested
In field testing in 30+ classrooms across the United States, these Performance Tasks received unanimously positive feedback:

Each Performance Task comes with a teacher edition and student edition available in a Microsoft Word document or PDF. Our system leverages an Edmodo feature that enables teachers to save the Performance Tasks to their personal Edmodo library or to their students’ libraries with a simple click.
All Real World Performance Tasks have been written by teachers. While our initial launch includes a representative sample for each grade, we expect to work with our teacher authors to cover 100% of CCSS Anchor Standards by the end of summer.
