Academic Experts Added to Educator Advisory Board

We’re excited to announce that we have appointed two new members to our Educator Advisory Board: Jo Boaler, Professor of Mathematics Education at Stanford University, and Jim Burke, English Teacher at Burlingame High School in California. With the additions of Boaler and Burke, NextLesson has the recognition and support of subject-area experts in Mathematics and English Language Arts. They will provide direction and feedback on our curriculum, content strategy, sales and marketing to support K-12 education.


Dr. Jo Boaler, Stanford University
Jo Boaler is a Professor of Mathematics Education at Stanford University, Co-Founder of youcubed, researcher and author. She has written numerous research articles and nine books, her most recent being “Mathematical Mindsets,” which provides teachers with strategies to inspire students to enjoy and succeed in math. She brings 20 years of experience and knowledge about mathematics teaching and learning to the Board.


Jim Burke, Burlingame High School in California
Jim Burke teaches English at Burlingame High School in California and is the author of over 25 books on the art of teaching English Language Arts. He has spent 25 years equipping educators with tools and strategies for teaching ELA to help students be successful in the 21st century workplace.
