Welcoming A.J. Juliani to the NextLesson Team

downloadWe could not be more excited to announce A.J. Juliani as our new Head of Learning and Growth at NextLesson.

A.J. is one of the world’s most innovative thought leaders when it comes to engaging students through inquiry-based learning. Through his prolific and award-winning speaking, writing and professional development courses, he has built a huge following of educators who are passionate about innovation, inquiry, and engagement — exactly what NextLesson is about!

As Head of Learning and Growth, A.J. will be focusing on getting NextLesson in the hands of teachers who are already sold on the value of applied learning, but have struggled to find quality resources that engage students in real world problem solving and easily align with standards.

He will also lead the delivery of professional development to ensure that teachers can be successful as they begin or continue to transform their classrooms through an inquiry-based approach to education. We can’t wait for our community to plug into his high-energy, fun, and engaging style of presentation where he shares personal stories from the classroom, real-world examples and research-based insights.

In fact, he brings a breadth and depth of experience from his work as a Faculty member for the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education (PLN), as well as his prior roles as Director of Learning and Innovation for Centennial School District, English teacher, football and lacrosse coach, and K-12 Technology Staff Developer. We love that A.J. has worked at and has a passion for every level of the K-12 spectrum.

Beyond his impressive professional background, A.J. has personal skin in the game with the job of raising curious lifelong learners. He and his wife are preparing four young children to be globally competitive in the real world where there are no answer keys! Like everyone at NextLesson, A.J. truly believes in applied learning, the inquiry-driven education movement, and a world that values students ideas and voice from the get go.

Welcome aboard A.J.!
